The South Side Community Art Center (SSCAC) has provided entry to the arts for thousands yesteryear supporting Chicago’s African American artists since 1941.

BLACK CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS

The South Side Community Art Center was purchased by a private committee spearheaded yesteryear the African American human of affairs Golden B. Darby. The South Side Community Art Center is located at 3831 S. Michigan Avenue, the onetime mansion of White Sox possessor Charles Comisky. It hosts writer's workshops as well as classes inwards painting, drawing, photography, as well as pottery.
